Wes started a thread about going to the Tail of the Dragon for the Cobalt Nation and Ecotec Nation event this year. I figured I'd start a thread to make it official.

We'll be heading that way from Dallas on Thursday 10/25. We will hit the Tail of the Dragon on Friday and Saturday.

The actual meet up with the two 'Nations' is on Saturday at 9:00 AM eastern time at the bottom of the Fontana Dam. To make navigating to it easier, here are the coordinates (click on the coordinates to jump to Google maps):

35.449770, -83.805981

If you plan on going (with or without a Goblin) let us know here on this thread. You should also head over to their Facebook group and let them know you'll be there. Feel free to post in their discussion area with a photo of your Goblin. https://www.facebook.com/events/1727179290688199/?active_tab=discussion

Can't wait! 9am on Saturday is pretty optimistic since we'll have to drive down from TN that morning. Also may have a couple of tag alongs on Harleys... People usually hang around for a while and then "roll out" or how does it go down? I hadn't planned to stay the night in fontana but maybe that would be best...? Could just sleep in my trailer lol

Hey just wanted to follow up on this. Had a blast! Saw Adam and Lonny again, got some parts for my supercharger setup that will be going on soon. Also got to meet Justin and see his insane setup. He drove like 3 hours in the rain with two big jugs of e85 in the passenger seat to be there!

Check out 129 photos and killboy on 27Oct just after 10am for shots of them driving in the rain.

And 28Oct right at 11am if you want to see me stuck behind a station wagon and SUV's...

Didn't really hang out with the Cobalt guys but we did wind up staying in the area until tuesday. Found a bunch of cool roads and routes to take between there and Asheville. Funny thing, I never saw anyone in my rear mirror unless I was stuck behind "normal drivers" but I **** sure saw a lot of american muscle pulling off to let me go by! This setup is made for those kind of roads!

It was really great despite the rain and I hope to see more of you guys there next year!

The only decent pic I got at the meet was right as everyone was leaving since they were all crowded around ours

If I am not working in Texas, I would love to meet up and ride through it. I may not have the Goblin complete by then but I do have an Ecotec powered Dune Buggy that I may able to take. Last year a bunch of my dune buggy friends did the drive and loved it.
