The wrinkle black turned out ok on most of the parts painted. The charge pipes were the most troublesome to get an even wrinkle. Upper pipes will be heat wrapped anyways, so it wasn’t a big deal getting the finish perfect on those.

Finalized the gauges and tidied up the wiring. Thanks to another forum member, @Waterdriver, for the awesome tablet mount! enclosed the sunroof and fabricated a deflector for the radiator exhaust

This is the gates submersible high pressure fuel line, the only time I've had an issue with a intank hose was when it wasn't the correct spec. I go over everything every year anyways. Ice Box is 2.6 gallons, big enough to fit a 20lb bag of ice

New fuel system plumbed up. Got rid of the bulky surge tank, inline pump and double stainless fuel filters. Went to a more a simplistic and effective setup with holly hydramat, walbro450 pump, ID750 fuel filter, and new ID1050 injectors replacing my 9 year old ID1000s. Still using the same fuel...

I transplanted the entire wiring system needed to run the engine with the stock ignition tumbler. PCM/bcm and fuse box. No major problems with the swap. Just a ton of measuring and looking over the wiring diagrams.

It’s bar padding from speedwaymotors that I’ve had for a year or so. I’ve emailed John about the fuel cell situation, but not about the reservoirs. Seriously doubt that’s an issue since I’ve seen a few like this in the pits

Went to water cooled because I’ve just surpassed the air to air capacity. Even mounting the intercooler over the engine would have very little airflow since the air tumbles in that area from the windscreen. Would have still been better than the bottom rear mount but still wouldn’t cut it. Plus...

Fabbed up a strut bar and gutted the rear deck lid or some weight savings. Continuing on some more interior work. Added padding on drivers potential contact areas.

Attempting its first start, fuel showers the entire engine bay. Turns out the brazing on the Saab fuel rail had cracked half way around the pressure check port. Nothing a little welding can’t fix! after fixing the fuel leak, it runs and drives!!

trimmed up the dash and installed it back in over the cage. Decided to use a $50 Amazon back up camera for our rear view “mirror”. Just trying to be like the IMSA guys! lol Wired up the fiero bulbs to the cobalt harness and got them working. Also did a little cutting for our center exit exhaust

    84 Fiero Endurance Racecar

Fueling was debated, but the idea of racing a 10gallon tank with pickup issues for endurance racing just sounded really bad. Wanted to have the capacity for long stints without having to constantly fuel save. I sized the biggest possible cell you could fit into the front of a fiero. An FIA 22...

I ordered a cage pre bent for the fiero, but still needed to be welded. Harbor Freight flux welder putting in work on this build! Lol

For brakes we went with rear rotors from a 92 lebaron with gm metric calipers and hawk performance HT10 race pads. Afco had some gm metric calipers at closeout pricing for $27 each, so naturally I chose those lol Pedals are inverted top mount wilwood pedals, keeps the masters in the cabin to...

    84 Fiero Endurance Racecar

Since the fiero is notorious for its bad rear suspension geometry and rear hubs exploding under load, I decided to do a cobalt spindle/strut retrofit. Also moved the tie rods from the top of the subframe down to level with the spindle right about the control arm mounting points. This should...
