    People recognizing the Goblin

At the grocery store tonight someone came up to me and said "I know what that is, it is a Goblin". I was shocked. He then went on to say he follows this vetinaryian on you tube and he has a Goblin.

Using a flood or water salvage vehicle

In registering my car in Texas, I noticed in the DMV documentation that Texas has a statute that prohibits the use of a flood or water damaged engine in rebuilding a motor vehicle. Kind of stupid, but it is a law here. I would check to see if your state has any such limitations.

Flat tow lights for towing my Goblin

Here is how I did my flat tow lights for towing my Goblin. My motorhome has had problems in the past with driving incandescent lights. Incandescent lights draw up to 10 times the current when they are initially turned on as the filaments are cold. They would blow out some circuit board in...

    Automatic Shifter - Side Mount

I built a side mount shifter for my automatic. I have to still add a mirco-switch for park detection. I was not going to have a shift lockout solenoid to disable moving the shifter without a key.

How awesome seeing all the builds coming together!!!

It is so good to see everyone's build coming together! I have probably spent more time than I anticipated but I continue to add new stuff. 3 passenger seating, relocating designing and making a shifter so as to not be in the middle of the vehicle. Wiring for flat towing, my transmission oil...

Automatic Transmission Flat Tow Re-Circulation Pump

I will be towing my Goblin with tiny diameter tires and HHR transmission (top speed will be under 120 at redline) so towing at recommended 65 MPH on a stock setup would have me have to tow at 50-55 MPH to keep the trans revs equivalent. I normally drive at 70. Additionally recommendation is...

Engine Coolant System - Radiator Caps

The stock cobalt has a closed coolant system with the pressure relief cap in the coolant reservoir tank. There is no radiator cap on the radiator. The cap on the coolant reservoir tank has a pressure relief valve to vent for excess pressure AND a vacuum vent to draw air in for low pressure...

Powering up the car with a new untested harness

When I finally came time for me to fire up my car I was worried that I may have made a mistake and installed a short somewhere that would smoke one of my wires in a harness somewhere when I hooked it up to a battery. I have made light bulbs out of lots of things in the past. As a matter of...

Wiring Harness - tracing a wire out on a wrapped harness

I was using a harness borrowed from Lonny and Adam as a model for my harness. I thinned my harness and upon comparing the harnesses I had trimmed a wire that was not trimmed on their harness. I needed to find out where the wire went and did not want to un-wrap their harness. I have a toner (a...

A new trip to the shop Saturday

The frame construction is going very smoothly now. The tooling they did for the CNC tubing cutter and CNC bender (they have had this for some time) really seems to have been a good investment for them.

    No Key - Lost Key

Lonny and Adam had a couple of steering column ignition switches without keys. You can buy uncut keys from multiple places. The car can be programmed to accept the code in a key - but what about getting the key to mechanically turn the ignition? There are 3 different types of cylinders. The...

Updating buys on the Dibs list

If those of you that have bought your donor would take a couple of minutes to post your buy on the new dibs list. Include the buy price and what excess parts you have sold from your donor. I'm sure this will help others in determining what they can expect. When you add it, it will first appear...

    New Donor Dibs List

Donor Dibs List - Bidding The donor dibs list is intended to allow us to know what other Goblin builders are bidding on so we don't get into a bidding war with each other. We want to be bidding against the rebuilder's and salvager's and not against each other. When we find a vehicle we would...
