I eliminated that (3), and the metal bracket that holds it (2), and its vacuum line (1).
The only vacuum line I used was for the brake booster... the rest of the engine has its stock vacuum lines.
I eliminated the crank case vacuum (PCV) line by putting that little air filter on the valve cover, and a piece of HVAC tape on the intake where it was suppose to attach (Not shown, but beside the MAF sensor).
