BAR-AIR's build up in Buffalo N.Y.

Good Evening,
Was working on a drivers side seat track slider for the BLUE car. (Now that my wife seems to want to drive it, without putting blocks on the pedals for her)... Seeing that it is a completed and powder coated frame really didn’t want to start cutting and welding. So I’m just going to put a couple of pictures in my build log. And do a better write up in a different log.

Here is a set of OEM drivers side seat tracks from the extra donor car that I had. (Really not interested in have the passengers side seat move forward prefer to have it in the aft most position for driving visibility)...

Working on a combination of the DFKITCAR’s seat mount and a standard universal seat mount getting bolted into the OEM seat track.

Chad did something similar here: http://dfkitcar.com/forum/index.php?threads/ctuinstras-city-goblin-07-ss-sc-donor-licensed.338/post-6491

So you are making a fiberglass mold and then a hood from that buck, or just fiberglass the buck, and work it with body filler?
It matches your windshield well. A lot of work! You, Alex1/9, JSATX and Steve Sallenbach all making custom hoods. Nice.

Good Morning,
Quick test fit of the hood buck on Nathan’s frame... Can’t side it all the way back due to the support foam hitting the radiator (but you get the idea). Also have a 8” piece of foam to show how a short windscreen would look with it...

Ordered enough materials for the two piece mold and at least one hood.

Good Afternoon,
Well we have a hood.... still need to finesse some of the edges to get a nice tight fit then cut off the additional materials around the edges... Also going to add a flange so the hood will rest on the upper frame tubes, put a bulkhead to continue the forward (firewall) and then last and finally built a larger storage (glove box) in the dead space above the passengers legs.

My thought is to make up to front splitter that attached to the existing hood mount to actually support the front of the new hood. (Still on the fence if I am going to make the hood be able to tilt forward for access or just pin it down....) Also the under the radiator flange on the original hood was kind of a pain to get access to and with having to move the hood forward and up to remove also interfered with the front bumper. Without that flange you can remove the hood straight up...

Could also do a simple modification on the existing bumper attach points for the hood too... (that is the primary purpose of the bump outs on the hood to get a sturdy horizontal line parallel with the centerline of the car..)

Then if I feel really motivated thinking about adding sides that will match up to the hood.

View attachment 815Removable upper cage welded and test fit. Dropping it and some other misc. pieces off at powder coat next week then should be able to start mounting the windshield, wipers and head rests per NYS DOT. Getting closer still need bumpers and the emergency brake to complete most of the requirements.
Hello. Do you have any close up pictures of how you attached the windshield frame to the kit frame and also the top rails to the frame? And what extra hardware you had to use? Thank you

I have been asking this question of many builders and you may just have the answers! Can I somehow eliminate the BCM?
Me obviously Cave Man. Me no like BCM. Sometimes BCM no like Me! Sometimes BCM says, "Look at me! I Am the Captain now!" (If Cave Man want un-needed input Me ask wife.) BCM have many electronic fingers in many pies. Cave Man no want BCM help. Cave Man can make own mistakes, thank you.
Any thoughts and ideas on this front are appreciated. I am looking very hard at your interconnection page. I need to put that on paper.
