I did not sufficiently checkout the requirements for directly buying through Copart avoiding the ABetterBid broker fee (about $260 as I recall)
For many states (mine - Texas - included) you can buy salvage title vehicles directly from Copart. There is NO registration fee to allow you to bid $1000 or less.
From the website it says that the individual Copart facilities determine eligibility which I assume means (for example):
If you live in Indiana, a state that requires a broker, you could buy a Texas salvage vehicle because Texas is a state that does not require a broker.
However if you live in Texas you cannot buy an Indiana vehicle directly!
