Donor Dibs List

Hopefully you will get it cheap since it looks like everything was damaged (to include the front left suspension!) Engine compartment looks like no damage.

I would be worried about it being a theft recovery since they drove it like they stole it! :D

I'm going to bid on this one:

https://www.iaai.com/Vehicles/VehicleDetails.aspx?itemID=20811156&RowNumber=11&loadRecent=True

The 2010 I have now is going to be resold as soon as the title lands here.
Ah I've been waiting for that car to be assigned to auction :-\ :'(
Did you get it?

That auction was pretty fast and furious.... I watched it close, and I would guess you got it since it was an Indiana bidder.

unfortunately I did not get it...ended at $3500 i think, so would have been around $4500 after all fees and taxes for the winner and if i kept bidding who knows how high it might of went. That was a tad more than i could afford at this moment and either way It seems a bit much to me or am I wrong? Would be worth it if i was going fix it to drive it but not to tear apart.

That car was very clean and 60k miles is relatively low. I think you made the right choice not paying that much for a car you are just going to pull apart.

Going after another supercharged - iaai - UGH $925 is my high bid as of now.

https://www.iaai.com/Vehicles/VehicleDetails.aspx?itemID=21039204&RowNumber=0

I deleted all my previous posts in the dibs list. It is getting too hard to find who is going after what. If all of you would do the same and just copy the results into the new thread: What they are going for.

This one just came up, since it's at the location near me I think I'll give it a go. In the pics it looks like its missing the intercooler piping and intake tube, seems strange since it doesnt appear to have much front end damage. Maybe the owner had aftermarket parts and took them off.

Matt, that looks like a good donor. Maybe the damage to the right rear will keep people from bidding as high.

We are going after this supercharged car in Austin:

We are no longer going after the supercharged car. Instead, we are going after this automatic naturally aspirated car:

Unless something better comes up before this one goes to auction a few weeks from now, I'm after this one

http://www.copart.com/us/Lot/15333456?searchId=1964701371

Portland isn't real far from me, and it might go cheap because there's no keys and therefore no start. Good thing I work at a Chevy dealer...

Not bad, I would be worried about subframe damage and damage to engine mounting tabs

There are a few SS/SC's on coport right now. None are super close to me. Many down south, TX and out east. Is this thread/list still active?

So what mileage are you guys looking for in general?
Personally I'm looking for 100k ish or lower. It's a solid engine, the lsj sometimes has some crank case pressure issues. Could blow a spark plug out. But with the engine out I don't think it would be that hard to work on it.

someone near Texas that can inspect should jump on this baby. If it is only hail damage, then it would be a good one

That location is 10 miles from our shop. I'm going to be bidding on it for my own build. I just have to wait until it finally gets a sale date.

Hello Everyone!

This one is on the other side of the state, But I have not seen any discussion on this Cobalt Sport 2008. It looks like they only made it this one year?
http://www.copart.com/us/Lot/19200626?searchId=1915091902

I'm going to plan on bidding on this one if it looks good to you guys. I like the 2.4 because of the bit more power now and I can TC it later.

Thanks!

Jordan, Not only is it a one year only "model", it is also a rarity as it looks like it has the 5 speed transaxle! Don't see many of the standard trans behind (next to?) a 2.4l

The 2.4 was the NA SS for the years of the supercharged model as well. I don't know what years the 2.4L was in the cobalt. I thought most or all? the 5spd is harder to find it in though for sure.
