Exhaust Valve Help...

Hello Goblin Builders... I haven't started my build log yet because I haven't ordered my kit. Donor is stripped and I'm going to take the winter and fiddle with the donor parts... clean, paint, thin wiring, etc...

I did take off my exhaust manifold and noticed cylinders 1, 2 and 4 look like this:

... but cylinder 3 looks like this:

Can anyone give me any ideas on what is going on with cylinder 3? The top part of the valve stem looks like it is wet. If you have the answer, what is my next step? Valve job?

Thanks,
Jeff

Perform a cylinder leak down test on all cylinders. It could be a misfire, dirty injector nozzle, spark plugs. The leak down test will tell you the health of the engine

I'm with Bill on this, that worn guides and seals. I would think about at least putting the seals on all of them just to be sure.
