Any input from those who have mounted a quick release? Brand and model? How much length does it add? Anything you would do different and for what reason? I am looking at this option to aid in entry and exit.
There is literally not a single reason not to have it. The lockup is impressive.I'll have to get me one of those too. Yall like having it?
Same one that I bought 2 days ago, just waiting on the 6 bolt to 3 bolt adapter.
DF supplies an adapter that goes on the cobalt steering shaft and converts it to 3bolt.I'm confused on this and can't really find good information. Does this https://www.amazon.com/Steering-Wheel-Quick-Release-Carbon/dp/B00BXWIET8 press on to the steering shaft and then the wheel bolt to this release?
Why is theeulogy needing an adapter? So we need both items to get the Goblin wheel to work? How much farther does the adapter push it into your chest?
When looking for a quick release, what should we be looking for to know that it will work with our Goblin setup, the shaft size, the bolt pattern?
Until I order one, it's hard to figure out what all is going on and then it's too late to find out you ordered the wrong stuff.
That is exactly how I am doing it, but have to wait for the adapter to come from Hong Kong. The 3 to 6 bolt adapter will go in place of the DF supplied steering wheel.DF supplies an adapter that goes on the cobalt steering shaft and converts it to 3bolt.
Then you need a 3 bolt to 6 bolt conversion plate available on eBay.
Then the NRG adapter bolts to the 6 hole plate.
There’s a picture on #149 of my thread.
Maybe I did something wrong when I installed my steering wheel, but I didn't use the DF supplied 3-bolt adapter. NRG sells a short hub adapter ($139) that fits right over the steering shaft and you use the existing 19 mm nut to hold it down. From there you can either install a quick release adapter or install the steering wheel directly.DF supplies an adapter that goes on the cobalt steering shaft and converts it to 3bolt.
