Removing Transmission Without Removing Motor

Looks like the rear main seal is bad so I need to pull the transmission to change it.

Does anyone know if it's possible to support the motor and just remove the trans?

Seems like the 3 transmission variants are about the same size so I would imagine if one makes it out they all would. If not I'm hoping I can just leave everything hooked up and lift the frame.

You should be able to support the engine via the oil pan with a floor jack and maybe a 2x4 for extra support? Do you think you can pull the transmission out throug the side through the frame? I don't know if there is enough space.

I was thinking slide it over to get the input shaft out of the clutch housing and then pull it out from the bottom.

I loosened the engine mounts at the top trans side and belt side used support straps around the engine and also used a cheap transmission table from harbor freight. Was able to lower it enough to pull the trans/07lsj manual. Was not fun but doable. You still have to pull the subframe.
