In order to be able to find certain things in the videos I decided to make a content list by video and time stamp. This is kinda a work in progress since some areas are more general than others, but I thought some of you may find it useful.



Video 1 – Every Goblin starts with a Cobalt donor

the donor used in this video is 2010 LS

0:20 - Check you donor for function and leaks


1:10 - Remove hood. Remove top hinge bolts, then hood prop strut


1:35 – Clean debris and remove oil cap, plug oil opening, Remove plastic engine cover, reinstall oil cap


2:08 – Remove outlet duct throttle body clamps, disconnect hoses and remove outlet duck


2:33 - Remove MAF sensor


2:55 – Remove air filter box


3:06 - Clean engine compartment – seal throttle body and valve cover vent – let dry


3:51 - Disable fuel pump at relay – let run till dies


4:17 - use fuel pump to empty tank


5:22 - roll down windows


5:42 - remove battery


6:07 - reinstall fuel pump relay










Video 2 – Stripping the exterior

0:00 - Jack front of car up and place on jack stands just behind the doubler


0:26 - Remove front tires


0:44 - Remove front bumper


0:56 - Remove inner fender wells


1:48 - Remove fenders


2:28 - Remove front fender bracket


2:40 - Remove hood hinges


2:44 - Remove windshield wipers


3:06 - Remove cowl


3:17 - Remove wiper motor


3:42 - Remove upper dash bolts behind wiper motors


3:53 - Remove doors


4:36 - Remove seats










Video 3 – Stripping the front suspension and drop sub frame

0:00 - Drain brakes with vacuum pump


0:48 - Take off steel brake line


1:02 - Remove caliper


1:21 - Remove rotors


1:32 - Disconnect sway bar link


1:41 - Install spring compressors


2:00 - Jack under ball joint and remove strut


2:41 - Remove axel nut


2:50 - Remove axel from bearing hub


3:06 - Remove ball joint clamp and the knuckle


3:18 - Remove bearing hub bolts


3:31 - Reinstall axle nut and washer


3:34 - Drain 1 qt trans fluid


3:57 - Disconnect overflow line from cylinder head and over flow


4:13 – Remove passenger side radiator mount


4:29 - Drain coolant system


4:34 - Disconnect AC lines – have professional recover refrigerant


5:06 - Remove steering knuckle


5:20 - Remove radiator mount


5:40 - Remove radiator side panels


5:54 - jack up subframe inline with control arms


6:00 - Remove rear transmition mounts from sub frame


6:20 – Remove both control arms


6:50 - Lower subframe- remove from steering shaft


7:18 - Remove steering rack


7:30 - Remove sway bar







Video 4 – Dropping the power train

0:00 - Remove TCM


0:21 - Remove ECM


0:38 - Remove fuse block


1:00 - Remove multi plugs


1:25 - Remove fuse block housing


1:54 – Free all remaining cables from fuse block housing


2:37 - Remove coolant tank


3:08 - Remove headlamp harness


3:38 - Remove horn


3:53 - Remove headlight harness from core support


4:09 - Disconnect powertrain accessories, brake reservoir, wiper motor plug, grounds


4:39 - Remove cable housing


4:50 - Remove Evap line and brake booster vacuum hose.


5:28 - Cut heater hoses


5:48 - Separate the exhaust


6:00 - Put dolly under engine


6:12 - Hoist engine


6:32 - Remove engine bolts


6:55 - Lower engine on dolly







Video 5 – Stripping Interior and dash

0:00 - Clean out interior


0:24 - Remove center console


0:47 - Remove accessory plugs


1:03 - Remove tunnel covers


1:37 - Disconnect bcm plugs


2:17 - Remove shifter


3:04 - Remove rear seat


3:27 - Remove interior trim and rubber seals

10:43 - Lower dash, remove from drivers side







Video 6 – Removing the harness

0:00 - Remove firewall pad


0:26 - Disconnect door sensors


0:41 - Disconnect air bag control module


0:55 - Disconnect parking brake sensor


1:01 - Remove harness from crossover


1:07 - In engine bay disconnect front wiring


1:33 - Feed plugs through firewall to inside of car


1:51 - Pull driver side harness free


2:17 - Remove brake lights from trunk


2:44 - Remove trunk lock and latch


3:09 - Free harness from trunk


3:35 - Remove carpet and disconnect trunk wiring


4:52 - Remove package tray


5:13 - Remove onstar module and other wiring to free harness


6:28 - Pull wires into cabin


6:51 - Remove main wire harness


7:10 - Remove and save the rear seat bolts




Video 7 – Disassembling the dash

0:00 - Remove steering column


1:03 - Disconnect and remove turn signal and wiper switches


1:23 – disassemble the steering column


2:00 - Remove power steering unit


2:31 - Remove steering wheel nut


2:49 - Remove ignition loop


3:58 - Disconnect brake booster from pedal


4:16 - remove power steering wiring harness


4:26 - Remover upper pedal box


4:46 - Remove OBD2 plug from dash


4:53 - Disconnect all trim plate wires


5:14 - Remove radio and climate control


5:48 - Remove glove box


6:10 - Remove passenger airbag


6:24 - Remove gauge panel


6:40 - Disassemble lower panel parts


8:02 - Remove plastic dash from steel frame and free harness





Video 8 – Stripping the rear

0:00 - Remove rear tires and brake drums


0:27 - Jack up the rear remove the upper shock bolt


0:38 - Lower the jack and remove the coil spring


0:44 - Remove bearing hub


1:08 - Remove brake lines after draining with vacuum pump


1:51 - disconnect fuel lines and wires


2:24 - Remove fuel filter


3:27 - Remove fuel tank


4:16 - Remove filler neck


4:42 – Break fender well clips to remove fender well


5:26 - Remove plastic lines from fuel tank


5:44 - Lift fuel pump from tank


6:05 - Lower shell on dolly

I quickly realized that making written step by step instructions for the harness would be impossible, so this list is more like a checklist to get you through the videos. I think the harness is much more a case of watching the video while you are doing to be sure you are getting it right as you go.


Video 9 – Thinning the Dash Harness

Use wire cutters to remove zip ties.


Use sharp knife to unwrap and peal the tape.


Completely unwrap the harness


Lay out the harness.


1:18 Remove antenna wire
