Can't get CV Axle back in

Same here. Also, I don't know if there's truth to it, but I've always oriented the retention ring with the open side pointing up. I think it helps prevent the retention ring getting caught. A few factory service manuals for other cars call this out when installing CV axles.

Please help me identify these "extra" wires in the harness

Good advise on bench testing the harness before closing this up. I was planning on using split loom as well which will help a bit if (when) I need to go back into the harness. Thank you again for your help, you have no idea how much time this saved me. I'm pretty sure all these are sorted out...

Please help me identify these "extra" wires in the harness

Wow, this is awesome, thank you so much!! I've got today off, so this will allow me to wrap up the harness today. My kit came with an A2A intercooler, so I'm assuming wire 2 and 7 I can just cap and tie up? I'll leave them there in case I want to switch to A2W later, but for my application A2A...

Please help me identify these "extra" wires in the harness

Hi All, The previous owner of this Goblin was "half-way done" with the wiring harness, and he seemed to be pretty uhhhh... creative.... with which wires to cut/not cut, and which wires to join together. I went through the videos from the start and thought I caught everything, but I must have...

    Kill Switch "Kill" Circuit

I was realizing that in my schematic, theres a hot wire that would run the length of the goblin between the alternator and battery... so I'd need to fuse that. Or, alternatively I can use the Goblin wiring "as is" and use one pole to disconnect the battery, and the second pole to disconnect the...

    Kill Switch "Kill" Circuit

I just realized that theres a huge thing I'm not taking advantage of... none of this wiring is "done", so I can change the harness to make sense for a kill switch. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm trying to "guess" how power distribution works on a Goblin... This is how power distribution...

    Kill Switch "Kill" Circuit

Thanks Ross, I was not aware that killing battery would kill the engine for this chassis. On cars that I'm used to, interrupting battery would not shut off the car as the alternator would keep it alive. Hence the need for 4/6 pole kill switches, so I just assumed this would be the same case...

    Kill Switch "Kill" Circuit

Hi All, I'm wiring in a Longacre 52-45782 4 pole kill switch and I was curious what circuit you interrupted on the "kill" poles? My goal is a battery isolator + kill @ >3000 RPM. 2 poles will obviously interrupt the battery, but for the other two, what circuit did you interrupt to kill the car...

    Federal 595RS

They have 3 lines... the RS-R, RS-RR, and RS-Pro. IME, the R was the slowest but lasted the longest, the Pro was the fastest and wore the fastest, and the RR was somewhere in the middle. The RS-Pro was my favorite if you are locked into Federal; it was grippy but would overheat after a few laps...

Looking for a new steering wheel

Momo, OMP, and sparco all use the same standard 6 hole pattern and are great wheels. Watch out for fakes on all of these brands, especially Sparco. I'm not sure if newer goblins come with a 6 bolt pattern, but mine comes with a 3 bolt pattern that's more common in circle track and go karts. They...

I think your original sketch has too many bends and joints, I wouldn't reference a SxS to build a cage since those are usually designed for ergonomics and a single low-speed rollover. I would recommend looking at rally and circuit/road course cages.. they're generally aimed to minimize bends and...

The trick to fitting tall people is getting a seat/mount that lets you nearly sit on the floor pan, and mount the seat in a more recumbent position. I'd recommend a fixed back, side mount, fiberglass seat, like the one you posted. The aluminum ones are also good options but the fiberglass ones...

    Battery Disconnect/Isolation Switch

This won't cover 100% of organizations, but the overlap of most rules is: The disconnect switch must sever ALL power and kill the car at higher than idle RPM's (usually they have us rev the car to 3k RPM's and show them that it will die). Common points to open to kill the car (using the 3rd/4th...

    Well this is an issue.

AFAIK your old LNF ball joint will mount up to the control arm you linked on rockauto. ZZP has very reasonably priced LNF control arms... why not get these...
