I’m not gonna knock anyone’s car but I’m curious why most folks with a slingshot make them look like a ufo with lighting? Emmett and I were driving last weekend and came up behind a car with a ton of lights and it turned out to be a slingshot. The wife and I looked at the Vanderhall which I thought was a pretty classy vehicle. Am I heading towards boomerism? :)

I tread lightly on this topic as this has a lot to do with your personal taste and what you want. Personally, not a fan of that kinda stuff… the old class I used to autocross in (and it appears I will again with XU instead of XA) there is a running joke that you must have underglow lights.

I am 40 years old, I hope this gives you a barometer of where you sit age wise to me

I put underglow on the Goblin because, why not? Cars that draw stares seem to be the right kind for that sort of thing. The glow has been turned on for about a grand total of 2 minutes since I installed it because it's not really "my thing", but I installed it because I could. Weird answer, I know.

I'm 45.

Sorry dude, welcome to old age. If it's too flashy, you're too old. Actually there is always a drive to individualize, you just individualize by building, not piling on tcotchkies and lights. I personally keep my Jeep dash duck herd under 8, it can get out of hand.o_O

Could be to make them a little more visible at night. I know the wife thinks we need more lighting for at night; she thinks the Goblin is hard to see and would aid in safety.
Most likely it's just to be flashy. To each their own, it's their vehicle to do whatever they want. I may or may not had slammed Honda's with loud exhaust and stereo systems in the late 90's to late 2000's. Therefore, I cannot be one to judge dumb stuff.

I actually hugely agree with this! I was always afraid of a big truck not seeing me in my old Miata, the goblin will have a cure for this, maybe in 2026 when I start building a V2

Being a small vehicle it is wise to be as visible as possible, whether by a bright colored paint job or additional lights (legal or otherwise) to help ensure the people around you notice you are there. Harley riders (and some other scooter drivers) know the benefits of our pipes, since there is only so much (or little) that can be done to make your two wheeler noticeable. Im a believer that having all three - paint, lights, and sound - justifies having all of these for safety reasons. JMOP.
