I don’t know that it’s possible to switch them, at least if the rest of the instrument cluster works. The ic gets info from the data wire circuit and the boost gauge has its own circuit, at least on the newer models. I don’t think the rest of the ic would work if they are swapped. But maybe the older is completely different.
I haven't done anything but sit and idle so I don't know if anything else works yet. I didn't check flipping through the info either. Maybe next on most to do.
