Got started on the dash wiring today. Realized I ordered the wrong switches; as I will need double pole in order to maintain the 12v illumination signal and keep the BCM 5v reference on the other side of the switch. Wired up my pwm dimmer today.

Waiting on diode for cruise control. Will probably wire up the RFID module next. Pretty happy with how everything is turning out so far, although this wiring is gonna be a tight fit, lol.

All the ordered parts came in; working the final harness. Off to a slow start because nothing was working right this morning. Got all of the cruise control resistors mounted and the switches wired up. I’ll be running all of the inputs & outputs off the original BCM using a 16 pin connector.

Finally got the dash wired. Tested this morning. RFID works and everything booted just fine. I have a video but it wont let me post it.

I’m currently pulling the data wires from the harness to hook up to the dash and finishing that all up. I want to run and test the entire harness out of the car to ensure everything is gtg.

Dang. That's pretty awesome!

For the video, you'll probably want to upload it to youtube and share the link.

Still working on the main harness. I built the patch cable from the C201 connector to ECM today. I have nearly 30 wires now going to the dash. Some of the sensors (brake fluid, parking brake, coolant level, ect. now need to go straight to the AIM; as it doesn’t pull that data from the CAN bus. Also had to tap into the turn signals and hi-beam circuits for the indicators as well.

I wired up my cooling fan relay. I wired up the L2A pump using the old circuit (since I am using an LSJ fuse box.) I wired my new L2A cooling fan using the original rear defog relay. I wired the CMHSL circuit using one of the (now unused) windshield wiper relays. I built a junction plug for the courtesy lighting using the old GT 150 headliner conector, as I will actually have 7 courtesy lights, lol.

About 75% done with the harness with well over 100 hours in it, lol. I still need to wire the lights and build some connectors for CPP, BPP, and a few more. Still need to add the two 18 pin dash connectors.

I hope to power the entire harness, BCM, ECM on my work table soon and start live testing the circuits.

Brian, is she your future electrical engineer? Seems like your daughter is concentrating pretty hard on not shorting something out! :D. Great progress!

She kept asking to help, and ringing wires is much easier with 2 extra hands.

Just inventoried & ordered the remainder of the parts I need to get this harness done. Hopefully I’ll be hooking it all up next weekend.

Got a lot done today. Rung out every single harness connector pin on the ECM and BCM. That took all day, lol. Had only one pin in the wrong spot. Tested my wiper relay (repurposed as the CHMSL relay). Swapped to a new OBD II connector that can be bolted to the car. Soldered up my final ground terminal.

All I have left to do is build a 32 pin lever lock connector to join the dash to the car, and then wire the RFID into the Goblin’s ignition circuit.

After this I can finally power up everything and start testing and configuring the indicator lamps on the AIM.

Spent all day Sunday finalizing the harness... HARNESS IS FINALLY DONE!

Hooked everything up, powered up, and it all worked first try. Tested all lights, turn signals, brakes. Scanner is reading data from the ECM. Rear view mirror cam looks great.

I may need to do a brake pedal calibration on the BCM later on. I ordered a VXDIAG; it does everything a Tech 2 can. I will also need to do a security relearn and a few other things later.

Next step is to program the AIM and test the dummy light inputs. All downhill from here, lol.

Man, I might need to invest.
The VXDIAG is a learning curve, but once its working right it can do everything, parameter wise. For $40 a VIN you can log into the acdelco TDS and do the same SPS programming that the dealer charges $150 an hour for.
