Donor Dibs List

Add a link identifying the donor you are after (a reply message) to this topic. It is a simple way to keep us from bidding on the same donor. It would be nice if you posted the TOTAL price you paid for the donor for others to see so they could know what the going price should be.

Hi Dan, my total price for the '08 SS from Copart, by the time everything was said and done was $3700. If I remember correctly, I won the bidding at $2600. Something to keep in mind, Copart adds a charge for purchasing with a credit card.

Looks like I am going to make a run at this one:

The Copart Car worked out for me.

Closed at $2700 final bid. Will advise of the total once the fees are tallied.

Damage was "undercarriage " and looks like it is rear suspension related. Fingers crossed there are not and front suspension or frame surprises.

After seeing some strange damage on front hit cars I decided to stay away from them. This was a little over budget, but looks to be a solid car.

Looks like a nice grab Ben!

I would say it's funny how your bid came out to that amount, but after watching many of the bids for other cars I am positive that they have lurkers to ensure they get a predetermined amount. I watched a few higher end flood cars go through weekly bidding's where they were "sold" only to show up the following week...the "sold" prices were always at a point lower than the "buy it now" options.

Most likely they do. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but looks decent. We will see once I have it here.

I didn't bid until the very end right before the timer expired. It was run up to $2550, I bid 26, they bid 2650, I bid 27 and it closed.

DanPerry,

Did you see the post I did in the First Stage Delivery Trip thread?

There is a manual trans Cobalt in Dallas...

http://www.copart.com/us/Lot/32928215

I was going to go for it BUT at this time (due to the move) I wouldn't have a place to store it... :(

Just a heads up... I was looking at the IAAI.com web site:

https://www.iaai.com/Vehicles/Search.aspx?RefinerSetName=Vehicle+Type&RefinerName=Automobiles

I added (to the left side of the web page) the years 2008-2010, Chevrolet, Cobalt and manual transmission and came up with 12 SS!

YMMV.

I have a lot of them saved in my favorites. They seem to take a long time to go to auction as they are on hold with the insurance company.

I'm going not going to bid on this one, now. I am stepping aside so that cMatt can grab it:

The 2010 I have now is going to be resold as soon as the title lands here.

cMAtt,

What is your max bid? I would expect this one to go to around $2000 before I started to bid. Probably ending up around $2800.

I have a black 2010 that I just bought and am going to sell because it is too nice to strip. I needed some parts off this one to make it a little nicer and then was going to use the rest for the Goblin. Maybe we can work something out?

I haven't placed a bid yet, I think it was just assigned an auction date yesterday. Prob won't place a bid till closer to time, and ya I figured it'd go for $2.5-3k. Where are you located? The car is in Indianapolis and I'm just south not too far from there.

That one aint too good to save! Perfect for a donor though...hopefully the interior doesn't look like a crime scene

Hopefully it is not a bloodbath in there. That was definitely a bad driving day!

I am going to try to go for this one...

http://www.copart.com/us/Lot/14209416

IAW ABetterBid, the shipping would only be ~ $604 (may be less with the 1 year membership), $150 for "1 year membership", $200 ABetterBid fee, a $400 refundable security deposit and CoPart fees... I am hoping that the extra costs exceed the winning bid for the car! :D

Or maybe this one...

http://www.copart.com/us/Lot/41101455

Due to it is listed as "runs and drives" whereas the one above is only a "engine start".

The first one probable will go cheaper since there is so much damage it isn't worth fixing to be sold and not much left of the body that isn't damaged for a salvage yard to part out plus the wheels look to be damaged.

The second one is older, has a few more miles but is in better shape so it may go for more $$.

We will see...

But first I have to see if a friend of mine will/can store the car for me until my shop is built. ;)

I've seen a few on Copart that say "Biohazard warning." This car doesn't have that warning so hopefully its clean.
