Duel gauge mount

It's looking like the hold down for the AEM Doesn't go all the way down to the base of the gauge. Not a problem I'll just design a new hold down setup. I'm looking at sealing the back and plugging the holes on the top..

Looks like you have a way to go to get this to fully seat. I tried to balance a good fit with being able to reasonably assemble, especially with a print that's less than perfectly printed, but elephants foot will kill the assembly of these parts.

I can post the STLs of the hole plugs as I just sliced them out of the body, then you don't have to worry about matching curves. Would still require glue probably as I'm not sure the curved surface would take threads well. As for covering the backside, that's up to you, but you'd have to figure out how to get the wires through the cover. For what it's worth the access holes on the top are completely invisible under the hood, and I drove through some heavy rain and not having the backside covered did not lead to the gauges getting too wet or anything.

Even with it bottomed out it was half an inch or so above the studs and my studs are closer together than the printed part. We must have different AEM gauges or they change the design of the gauge. But i'm working on my own hold down setup and will post pictures when I get home tonight of the progress. No man i really like the body the way you designed it. Fit and form is prefect.
The first picture you posted on this was a different design was it just a flat plate with a L for the mounting?

I had someone print Chad's design for me and had the same issue. We both have AEM gauges but they are different bolt patterns. Having a different width helped me, as I just attached a piece of aluminum stock over the gauge bolts and drilled holes to bolt that to the mounts in the part. Worked just fine.

I've used this gauge mount insert design on every iteration, I've just been moving the ambient light sensor mounting point around.

I just finished up a design I’ve been working on. It will fit two 52mm gauges and the ambient light sensor. I wanted the gauges to be close to parallel with the hood line.
I have a cap/clamp designed that goes over the back of the OEM boost gauge to allow it to be used, along with a spacer that places the face at the same offset from the mount as the AEM gauge I’m using.

I’ll work on getting .stl files to Mayor West to add to his thread with other printable files if anyone wants to print their own set.

RITDR this design is awesome, but I wish I would have noticed your hood prop brackets! Does not fit without them.
You know, I never even thought about those being there and raising the hood up! I’m just used to having them.
How close is it to fitting? Maybe I can adjust the design so it will work for the lower hoods. I would have to shift things around to the left to allow me to lower the gauges, but should be able to get it to work. Help me get the dimensions worked out and I’ll send you an .stl file to print and try out.

RITDR, I know it's been a hot minute since this post, but If you're still around, want to give you the dimensions you asked for. This has been a great gage pod for the last couple years. I added the hood pop so it would fit. If there was any way to shave 3/16" off the overall height, it would clear perfect.

What A/F gauge do you have? If it's an Innovate my design would probably fit it no problem. I have since redesigned (but not reprinted) to put the ambient light sensor to the right of the A/F gauge as its current location makes it a little challenging to get the left hood mount bolt tightened. The picture is of my current model and the 3d model is the redesign that I will print and test soon.

The two holes in the bottom are for the steering column mount bolts. I want to say they were 3/8" thread but I don't remember the length aside from my replacements being 1/4" longer. The body is printed with solid 1/4" thick material at the bottom of the mounting points so I was comfortable cranking down with the mount bolts. They haven't backed out at all and they're still solid and tight. There's clearance around the mount points that fits my 3/8" socket and thru holes at the top that allow an extension from my ratchet to reach the socket.

The design is 3 pieces. There's the main body and two inserts for the gauge mounts. They're dimensioned for the stock boost gauge and the AEM A/F gauge. They allow for clocking of the gauges and (fairly) easy replacement of the gauges if they have different mounting depths or stud locations.

I'm not comfortable sending you one without having tested it first, but I'll be testing this soon. If you have a different A/F gauge, I can either post native files, or you could probably snag a few measurements and I can adjust the insert pieces to fit your gauges. We can round up the cost of shipping to the nearest $5 or whatever works for you.

I would love to order one of these from you, if it'll fit two 2 1/16" AEM gauges, that install identically? Or can anyone make me something similar that will fit these gauges?

I'd be happy to provide the 3D print files, but my printer is not where it needs to be to make a good enough print for me to hand off to anyone else at the moment. My two gauge pod was also unnecessarily complicated, something I rectified in the three gauge pod I'm running now (OEM boost gauge, post-supercharger; AEM WBO2; AEM Tru-Boost controller for the turbo). Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of this in the car.

If nobody else pipes up, I can probably redesign the two gauge mount to be easier for anyone else to print or for you to order from a print farm. That'll probably be next week at the earliest though.

I like your design, @Rauq. Specifically how it has the bolt holes, which is what I should have done. The triple pod I designed and run uses the DF LSJ gauge bracket, and if you don't run the LSJ boost gauge it won't work. Mine is specifically for the AEM X-Series wideband and Aeroforce, along with LSJ boost gauge.

Anyway, I'm happy to print things for anyone on my Bambu P1S, just pay cost of material and shipping. I typically only print PLA and ABS, but happy to do PETG or ASA if you pay for the full roll of filament. My car parts are all in ABS (gauge pod cluster, steering wheel hook, fuel filter clamp, cup holder, console storage) and 1-3 years old at this point, holding up well.

Sweet! No need for a 3 gauge pod though :). Definitely interested in the 2 gauge one though!

Could you print a 2 gauge pod for AEM gauges? Since I don't have a stock LSJ boost gauge and all?

If you have something designed already, sure; send me the stl file. Otherwise it's something I would have to draft, and I'm not quick or efficient with that and without parts to measure and test, I couldn't guarantee it'd work out well.
