Don’t read into anything too much. Tone of voice / sarcasm does not transfer over text.
Almost everyone on this forum has been through the process of building one of these with choices made at the beginning to align with their end goal.
Some are just sharing their opinion, and that’s all that it is.
For you, It seems budget is not an immediate issue and you enjoy the process of tinkering on things. I don’t know how much you got your goblin for but there are SS/SCs for sale for probably less than what you’re going to spend modifying yours. But then again, you may have purchased this thing knowing you want to do all this and there is nothing is wrong with that.
Now that you have a registered account you’re stuck here
Keep posting updates on your build. There are plenty of people, myself included, that love seeing the process.
I just dislike the way the world's becoming, or rather has became.... 25 years ago, when the internet/forums were still new, people just weren't so sarcastic/rude, they actually were nice. I know nothing is going to change either, I'm just getting old I guess.... :/
I hate trying to figure out if someone is pissed or sarcastic online.
I didn't even know you could get a Goblin with an auto, until I found this one! That's the one of the reasons I bought it, because I fit good and could actually drive it comfortably. And the other was it was already titled, but that really didn't seem to matter for my county... I think I got a decent deal on it? But you're correct, I probably could've built my own, the way I wanted it for about the same price in the end. If I'd known getting it tag/titled was going to be such a PITA, I would've just ordered an extended track frame, with easy entry, but I'm making this one the way I want it, so I'll be happy until someone offers me a stupid amount of money for it and I'll sell it, LOL! If someone would give me $50k for my Mustang, I'd probably sell it, even though I'd probably regret it down the road?
TBH, I wasn't planning on doing much to it, at first, after I got the title/tag in my name. Until I came on here, I didn't know I could do all this stuff to it. Only reason I don't really have a budget is my dad passing almost a year ago and left my brother and I with a substantial amount of inheritance. That's how we were able to buy 2 new Bronco's and do the stuff to them, as well as buying my Mustang and the stuff I've done to it. My house was paid off when my mom passed 5 years ago, so we really didn't have anything we needed the inheritance for. I remodeled our house completely over the last 6 years, so everything's new in here. And we don't have kids to worry about, other than our dogs
So, budget isn't super tight, but I don't wanna blow through the remaining inheritance either, since I retire from the state in 5 years.
And I'm not an idiot,
@Ark :D I know you cannot just take the auto out and slap in a manual and everything work fine and dandy... I was thinking if I did do it down the road, I'd get a new/rebuilt engine, trans, harness, etc and go from there, but I don't think I'll be able to do any of this in a standard length frame honestly.
