NC Area Autocross 2022

Not sure how many events I'll plan on doing this year but figured I should start a thread dedicated to NC area autocross events. Specifically I'm likely to be doing the THSCC (tar heel sport car club) events for 2022. I don't have any ties to the group other than participating this past Sunday. Feel free to add other group autocross events here if someone else is doing some in the NC area. I'm in the Raleigh region.

If anyone in the NC region is interested in autocross with THSCC, take a look at their website and registration for events page, links are below. They have events for autocross and rallycross. I only am considering the autocross events and haven't registered for all of them yet. Their numbering for the events make it seem that 2 are yet to be announced in the later summer/early fall. The autocross events currently listed are in:
  • Danville, VA - retired airport strip, very close to VIR
  • Rockingham, NC - "Little Rock" track surface outside "The Rock"
  • Lucama, NC - Southern National Motorsports Park, just south of Wilson near I-95
General website:

Overall events listing on the registration site:

2nd points event (April 10, 2022):

I’d love to join you sometime, but that’s a long trec for 10 minutes worth of driving. :p

our “normal” autocross is a little more than an hour out for me and almost 1 1/2 hours home with traffic. Getting up at 5 to be on the road by 5:40 to get there when the gates open at 7, then to work/run and such, plus help clean up……..1 1/2 home……..12 hour active day, is a long Sunday. But it is fun.

I agree about the whole 10 minutes thing. I went to the one in Danville last year, it was fun but it literally involved an entire weekend and was only 10 minutes of bliss. Not to mention it was hot af and playing cone monkey was brutal lol.

All that said, I'd give it another try! The "night moves" event sounds like a good event for a car with no roof or a/c. I'll be in Raleigh a good bit over the summer, it would be good to get a group together sometime even if it's not for this!
