NW AutoX and other track things

@Yustas and I were talking while at an Audi club AutoX last weekend about setting up a new thread were we can post about upcoming events in the PNW.

So far, here's the list of upcoming local events and venues I can think of off the top of my head.

Evergreen Speedway (Higher speeds, moving start and flying finish, no work assignments!):
July 11th
September 6th

https://evergreenspeedway.com/autocross/autox-schedule/

Bremerton Sports Car Club (Classic autox on an old airstrip):
June 27th
July 11th
August 14th (practice day)
August 15th
September 19th
October 23rd (practice day)

https://www.bscc.net/season-events-list

Packwood (I haven't been yet, but I've heard great things):
July 9th-11th
July 16th-18th
July 24th
July 25th

https://www.motorsportreg.com/calendar/?country=US&q=Packwood&radius=300&loc=Seattle,+WA

Even though I haven't started my build yet, I'm always down to bring the Subaru out to these kinds of events. And hopefully have it whooped by a goblin

I wish I lived by you guys. I’m having a hard time figuring out how and where to get into an autocross event up here in Michigan

@SmsDetroit First step is to join SCCA https://www.scca.com/ . From there, I'd check out the Detroit region http://drscca.org/solo/. There are other regions that might be closer to you depending on where you live: https://www.scca.com/membership_areas/245

There's also tons of good detail about getting started here: https://dfkitcar.com/forum/index.php?threads/advice-for-autocross-beginners.2539/

I've done the Oscoda event before! It's on one of the airforce base pads so very wide open to push the car without fear of hitting any trees (just little orange things). Plus it's a nice area for a little getaway up north. Waterford Hills racetrack isn't too far away either. I'm sure they would have some information on track day events.

So due to the heat this weekend the club may change the format to keep people out of the sun and physically chasing down cones.
Looking to run just one big run group, since the turn out is fairly small, and send out a sweeper car when cones are needing to be reset.

This should get us more than 4 runs in and off the track and noon or 1.

Hopefully y’all had fun and stayed cool. It rained here today so I didn’t get to go race.

How was the event?

There are 2 of them on July 11th: BSCC and Evergreen Speedway (Monroe). I'm thinking to go to Monroe, registration is not yet open.

Lots of fun but super hot! I'm coming back from North Carolina on the 10th, so I might not bring a car out, but maybe I'll stop by.

It was certainly a hot day out there but still a lot of fun. Thankfully we wrapped up around noon and got outta there.

The weekend of July 11th has an SCCA autocross out in Packwood. I might go out there just to check it out.

The karts ended up turning pretty respectable times even though they were bouncing off the rev limiters. My best in the Goblin was a 40.3. While my friend and my brother in-law were turning 45's. You can make up a lot of time when you can run a tight slalom flat out at 50+ mph.

"Registration will open on 07/06/2021 at 6:00 pm!"
Couple hours after openning.. "We have reached the driver limit for this event."
What? Such a high demand. I've missed it ((

Try the evergreen autox Facebook page. Alot of the time people will back out and sell their spot for the original price.
