Been awhile since I’ve updated. Been troubleshooting with ZZP and the oil leak in the turbo. They sent me an in-line oil filter and restrictor for the oil feed line stating that sometimes the pressure is too much for the seals so restricting it would stop the oil from leaking.

They also had me try using a vacuum at the valve cover cap opening while running to see if it relieved the smoking. This would check for a clogged PCV valve. It didn’t help at all unfortunately. Still getting oil in the intake turbine housing, backed up into the silicon elbow, and even at the opening of the W2A intercooler.

Pulled my spark plugs to check them because I went for a little test drive since I haven’t for awhile. Got a lot of miss fires and stuttering during that test drive. Car only has 63 miles on it and this is what my plugs look like:

Pictures make it look like it’s running too rich, but in person they’re more cakey looking like oil depositing on them (IMO at least). Either way, it’s definitely not coolant that I’m burning.

ZZP gave me my RMA number to send the turbo back to them for inspection finally. Figured while it’s there, I’d do some maintenance items I missed during the build. New water pump and gasket, new PCV valve (just in case), and going to pull my head and switch to a Cometic head gasket.

The back of the intake valves will most likely look like your spark plugs, they may need some cleaning too.

The A2W will need to have some solvent washed through it, you don't want that oil 'aging' in the cooling fins and clogging your intercooler.
