I think there has been one fiberglass body completed and one in the works. With the right body and the right skills it can be done. If anything other than fiberglass it probably shouldn’t be done because at that point why not just use a chassis from one of the hot rod shops. Or find a tube chassis race car that Is a lot closer match in terms of wheel placement and engine location.
I've thought about doing this. Maybe a '27 Track T nose, and some hacking up of a fiberglass T-bucket and some whitewalls... just enough to claim it's a "street rod" and get it registered in Louisiana without all the BS.
