Tire Size Comparison Calculator

I always just pop open a calculator: I have 225/45R17 for my build. 225 is the tread width (in mm), 45 is the aspect ratio (tread width to sidewall ratio), 17 is wheel diameter (obv).
[Tread width * aspect ratio * 2 (two sidewalls, top and bottom)] / 25.4 (mm -> in) + wheel diameter
(225 * .45 * 2) / 25.4 + 17 = 24.97" tall

I'm thinking about running a wider rear if/when power levels dictate, maybe a 255/40R17
(255 * .40 *2) / 25.4 + 17 = 25.03" tall

True. But the link provides a visual of those figures...

Correct, compared to stock size for mine it shows the following visual and data info. It also shows how much my Speedo would be off.

My donor was a 07 SS/SC with 18" wheels to almost perfectly match the original height but drop the wheel size down to 17" ( cheaper wheels and more common tire sizes) i went with a 275/40 R17 rear

Thanks for this. I'm planning to get new tires this month from 4WheelOnline for 18" wheels and I haven't yet finish deciding the tire size that I'll get.
