lol, all good! Yep, that's the steering arm recall. I was freaking out thinking I'd have to pull my front suspension back apart right after getting my alignment dialed in.
Do you have any additional info on the recalled control arms? I got replacement steering arms from DF, and asked if there's any additional recalls, and they told me that it's just the steering arms.
Correct, it'll return once it's bled. I used a cheapo harbor freight vacuum bleeder to get it...
I don't think you'd want to run the washers that came with the eccentric bolts... OEM everything always kicks butt if you have the choice to run it as the factory intended. Regarding roughing up the upright, I don't think that would make much of a difference. Aluminum would deform and bite...
At the moment, I only have 1 extra set of these, and unfortunately the machine shop has broken down their setup for these parts. I'll need to process a separate/new order if I want to make more of these, which means a minimum of 10 sets for it to be worth it. They will be $295/kit shipped. With...
A little bit of shaft play is normal since they're journal bearings. I didn't know any better when I did the initial build and thought the turbo that came with my donor was bad because it had a bit of radial play. So I bought a new BorgWarner K04, and to my disappointment they felt identical...
Here are my current specs with pyrometer data: http://dfkitcar.com/forum/index.php?threads/tubular-subframe-suspension-setup.5663/post-117925
Max logged speed per my catalyst for that weekend says 120MPH ... mine still needs a lot of dialing in, but it didn't feel too unstable.
- I read guys switch the springs front to rear. Meaning they run the 300 on the Front and 400 Rear. Should I do this before the alignment snice im tweaking everything?
I'm running 300# front and 300# rear and I'm happy with it. Are you dealing with oversteering issues? If not, leave it as is...
Last sets of strut mounts have been boxed up and will go out tomorrow! With that said, this wraps up the group buy. Thank you all for joining in on this and supporting the project.. I had fun doing it!
A couple notes:
A second batch of these being run right now (as of 28JUN), if you want...
Crash testing wasn't part of the testing plan! All jokes aside, it sounds like you're alright? That's all that really matters.
I'm very curious to see how they held up. I'm having some extra mounts made for spares and to post up later for others who aren't as active on the forums. If it's...
8 more kits packaged and will be going out tomorrow! They are for:
Comegetjoe - Wednesday
Jaredthenav - Saturday
SmsDetroit - Friday
OptimizePrime - Wednesday
ToxicBill - Tuesday
KSLunsfo - Wednesday
Meansol - Tuesday
95Blitz - Wednesday
You should all receive them by this weekend. Just...
Appreciate it David! I just finished measuring my bearings and comparing those to the CMM report - I have 8 nominal kits, and 1 that would be "fine" but not optimal. I'll wait for additional parts to come in for your kit; I much prefer shipping quality, so I appreciate the confirmation. Thanks...
Murphy is alive and well -- the final lot was shipped in two boxes; one of them arrived early, and the other one is delayed until Tuesday.
The good news is this box has enough parts in it to fulfill 8 or 9 kits. I don't know if it will be 8 or 9 because I've been match-fitting my bearings to...
I only used the middle from my kit, so I still have the front and rear for whoever ends up purchasing this .. it's brand new/never installed, for $40 shipped?
I'm not running the tubular subframe, but I'm running 300# F/R with the following alignment settings:
Front camber: -1.8
Front toe: 1/32 in
Rear camber: -2.2
Rear toe: 3/32 in
Wheels/tires: 15x9 w/ 225/45 RC-1
Here's my pyrometer data, I need to gather more data and average it, but other...
I'm running Cobra Evolution Pro-Fit seats with custom fabricated brackets. I wanted containment seats, and the DF brackets limit your seat selection a bit. Also, I wasn't a huge fan of the single plane fork mount that they use at the front.
