V1 2008 SS/TC at IAA in Des Moines

08 SS/TC selling at IAA in Des Moines on Tue 4/4/23. Listing says 84000 miles, car starts but doesn't drive (axle damage?).

They list suspension damage. I'm guessing something is damaged under there that prevents it from being driven.

Would still be a great donor car though. When I built mine, I ended up replacing 90% of the suspension/steering anyway. All I really needed was the engine/trans, all the electrical stuff, and steering rack.

I would think that for MOST builds, I would not consider any donor with major front end damage.
You never know what you have unless you do a TOTAL teardown of all major components.
A rollover, rear-ender, or a T-bone would be better than a front-ender.
I know many here used donors with front end damage, but it is not an optimum situation.

I'd agree with you. I used a donor that was in a bad front end wreck and got lucky with only having to replace the cradle and dipstick for the build. Could have gone much worse. It's an expensive gamble on replacement parts being available and the engine runs OK.

Id buy it. So it might need a rack or subframe. Runs. 80k miles. If it were closer to me I would bid on it but shipping is a murderer's charge lately. Might even buy those seats from one of you, if one of you buy it. Not likely to go cheap.

Looking deeper. He mightve only hit something at heaight height. Look at the bumper pic and then the headon pic, zoom in at the headlight, thats most of the damage. I say bid with confidence.
