V1 Exhaust Rattle

Looks Like I had a baffle or something come loose inside the muffler. Does anyone know the part number for this exact muffler so I can cut the bad out out and weld in a new one. I see lots of 2.5in offset inlet/outlets but its hard to tell if the taper at the inlet/outlet is the same.

Or does anyone have a stock exhaust for SS/SC they want to sell?

Drill a hole, put in a rivet... or weld the hole shut. Guess the hard part would be finding the right spot to drill.

My dad and I talked about using a bore scope and trying to find whatever is loose and drilling and plug welding it.

Took the muffler off tonight, shook it nothing, held it and tapped all over it with a rubber mallet, sounds like one of those Jamaican steel drums, but nothing is moving around inside.

The expansion from the heat must be loosening up whatever it is. Makes since as I didn't hear the noise till I got home from a 20 minute drive.

I’m sure if you called them they’d give you the model number. I’m not using mine, but shipping is probably pretty expensive.

Is your DF exhaust the 2.5" exhaust?

Looks like a std. Flowmaster muffler. Call DF and find out which Flowmaster they are buying.

Lonny's on here multiple times a day, figure its easier for him to respond to an easy question while checking the forum sitting on the toilet than stopping what hes doing to take a call. If he doesn't respond on here in the next day or so I'll call them. It's about to get cold again so I wont be driving for the next week+ anyway.

There's lot of options for the same body size, Flowmaster, magnaflow, Jeggs, amazon all have brands of mufflers that are similar dimensions of the current muffler, ranging from $25-$40.

I'm never on the forum!

But if I were, this would be an image of the end of one of our muffler boxes that I would post.
Adam says we buy our mufflers from Jones Exhaust.

If you want, I can get Adam to contact Jones Exhaust to see how they handle situations like this.

So does that mean you have never seen my request to change the muffler O2 bung?

On the LNF, GM has a wideband o2 (5 wire) located right in the o2 housing of the turbo. So I've never quite understood why AEM claims theirs needs to be 18" from the turbo. Also, the further an o2 sensor is from the engine, you slightly end up chasing your tail while doing real time tuning as there's a delay of the exhaust traveling down to the sensor. That being said, longevity definitely couldn't be HURT by having it further downstream.

Edit:
The only thing I can think is they are recommending this to cover applications of increased boost/power and longer periods of high throttle driving such as road racing.

I would really appreciate it if he did contact them, I've only got 750 miles on the car so far. Looking at their warranty looks like 1 year from the date of sale so were past that.

No big deal though. Thanks for the part number!
