HELP- incomplete kit purchased at an Estate Sale

hello all,
In a bit of a pickle. One of my friends passed away a bit back. He was the owner of 2 goblins. One mostly assembled and another barely uncrated. Well his kids held an estate sale where the uncrated goblin was put on the auction block. Sadly, it did not fetch the reserve they had listed so I ended up purchasing the kit at the conclusion of the auction for their reserve. If you have ever been to an estate sale it is usually chaos and pandemonium- this was no different with trying to get all the boxes sorted out for what belonged to the uncrated goblin on one of his many other projects he had sitting around. To make my story a little bit shorter. . . i am missing a bunch of stuff to assemble this car and not sure even what stuff I am missing outside of a few obvious pieces.

Being super optimistic this is a solvable problem I already sent the chassis out for sandblasting and powder coating. the donor car is prepped and ready to go.

The kit is a stage 2, TC, extended chassis kit with 5110 lug pattern. I hope that is enough info because that's what I have available to me currently to track down parts and assemble this thing.

The obvious stuff is the sheet metal. I have a pending request for support emailed to DF kit car. . .but i do not think it is a bad idea to thru more than one line in the water and hope for the best. Are there any drawings available for the extended floor pan, manual transmission firewall or passenger kick panel? Is there other sheet metal bits I should be looking for?

The less obvious stuff. . . I have a packing list for stage 1 and stage 2- I think the things like shocks and clutch lines and radiator hoses are all, thank fully, accounted for. I do NOT have SUB section packing lists. . . . what pray tell makes up the list for "Stage 1 hardware all" and "stage 2 hardware all"

Thank you in advance!

I would email DF directly and ask them for the parts manifest list up to stage 2. Then start checking things off that list to see what you might be missing. Now, from the donor side it gets a bit harder. You'll need to watch the videos and write down everything that is kept from the disassembly videos.

Congrats on starting your build.
What frame number is stamped behind the driver's seat? Found it. Frame #109... which is pretty close to my frame #121... so the video above should be close. My frame is for a supercharged donor. Not sure of your kit is SC or not.
The parts have evolved a bit from the early frames.
You might want to start watching the build videos, to see if you have the right parts. Start a build thread, and post pictures as you go, as it helps us understand what you are working with.

Here is the DF video list on YouTube, and on the forum

Worry not! Between the DF Fab folks and this forum we'll figure this out! Every car has an actual fixed minimum number of pieces!(I know it seems like a million but it's really not so many, 12,000 maybe?;)) There usually isn't any part that can be done without! So if say "one of the wheels is just out in space" with no parts to connect it to the frame this becomes a fill in the blanks puzzle. Yes!, it looks daunting now, but when you run out of parts the "what" exactly is missing will become crystal clear! "The knee bone's connected to the leg bone", ETC. And even when you've got that piece that is a mystery and you're not even sure it goes on this car, JUST ASK! I'm sure someone on the forum will know for sure! You can always hang extra stuff off the car but certain parts it will not function without! Make all them 4 wheels touch the ground all at once and you're in the ballpark!

Thank you for the input everyone. i think my first post was too long and the specific requests were missed.

1st request: does anyone have and willing to share mechanical drawings of the gobin extended floor pan, manual transmission firewall or passenger kick panel?

2nd request: what are the specific parts lists that make up "Stage 1 hardware all" and "stage 2 hardware all" found as sub sections to each stage

thank you again

Did you get parts in baggies that were labeled by chance? Or was everything tossed into a box? Photos of what you have, arranged in an order so they can be referenced in email responses would simplify identification of what you have and what might be missing.

Please note that stage 2 and stage 3 kits from DF will be complete for 'model' Goblin you have. Description of the kits are in the DF website. Parts for stage 1 will be exclusive of the stage 2 and stage 3 kits.

Not certain why you need mechanical drawings of the panels? They can be ordered from DF - and delivered with a stage 2/3 kit to save on shipping. Otherwise a 'repurposed' road sign - that happens to be discarded by the city/county/state - is good material to use for the floor panel that is not too difficult to mock up.

Since you bought this project, hopefully knowing that some missing parts would need to be made or purchased, doesn't dissuade you from the adventure you're starting. Ask questions, we are here to help. :D

1. I have never seen those mechanical drawings. Floor pan dimensions are here. Not a mechanical drawing, but the basic dimensions are there. You could make your own drawings from the frame that you have.
2. The Stage 1 hardware list have been evolving since the beginning of the kit. The parts that were used in your kit would not all be the same as my kit but you are welcome to see what did come in my kit. My kit #121 was one of the first that had all the bags loaded and labeled with the parts necessary for that area of the build. Jermey in that video mentions how that parts have evolved since his kit #36.

Thank you again for the input.

Yes I could just set the frame on a sheet of metal once back from the powder coaters and rough cut something. I was hoping to avoid that. shipping the ext floor plate from Texas to Nebraska would be a quite bit more expensive than the metal itself and I do own a few CNC machines.

As to packing of the components. Yes, most everything was in 1 of 4 heavy boxes. Yes, MOST things had stickers and could be identified as per a packing list I received from DF (attached). (PC annotation means already at powder coater and STARS mean very different than description). The 4th box had baggies UN-Labeled and nothing was identified as "HW-STG1-ALL or HW-STG2-ALL" everything else has been accounted for even if there were differences in the descriptions.

I am trying to identify what SHOULD make up the list of items for "HW-STG1-ALL or HW-STG2-ALL" because I live 45 miles from the nearest town and the back and forth getting ones and twos of things in the middle of assembly will be dreadfully painful. I did that on the last project which you can check out here (it was just finished with paint last week- more pics to follow): launch_pad_mcduck2003 | Flickr or here: Launch Pad Engineering - YouTube

Super Seven with a blown V6.... wow, nice car. Lonny or Adam would be the only people I know that would have detailed drawings of the sheet metal work in our goblins.
