Potential Concern for Goblins / Kit Cars

Just stumbled across this article today... hopefully it doesn't get too serious and end up affecting folks down in Texas (which is incidentally the most concentrated area of Goblin owners)

That's really unfortunate and sucks big time.

It opens up a huge can of worms because I'm sure there are much more unsafe cars out there on Texas roads. I hate to jinx it, but I can't see something like this sticking. It makes zero sense to me.

This could potentially affect all the builds. I would think all of the states would at least look at the DFKITCAR web sites prior to doing an inspection on a newly minted kit car.

I don't live in TX but the way the DMV is handling this really chaps my ass. I don't get why they're revoking existing registrations. At a minimum grandfather those in and put a freeze on new ones.

Other states might follow suit, but I think there are others--like mine--that will put the dollar over safety.
