Clutch pedal

Watched the video & it's all about the Automatic Transmission version. As far as the 5 Speed manual what do you need to save/remove from the dash for the clutch pedal? Looks like you may need to do some cutting? Is ther a vodeo covering that. Thanks !!!

You’ll save the pedal, obviously. Beyong that, the clutch position sensor plug, the clutch master cylinder, shifter assembly and shifter cable clamps, hose fittings, any and all clips/bolts, and the cable mounts on the transmission. I didn’t reuse the rubber hose for my clutch, instead I bought some rubber brake line from Wilwood. I’m probably missing some things, so if it looks important, it might be worth marking and saving.

Everything that is clutch related you need to save. Be very careful when removing the clutch MC. When you turn it to unlock it, don't break the hose port off. You will need the clutch switch and wiring.

Good advice, but too late (my fault). Apparently I broke the smaller port off of the Clutch Master Cylinder a while back. Found one on line about $50. I could not find any info in the video's on how to dismantle the clutch assembly from the dashboard. I guess the reason I missed it is the video's are geared toward an Auto Trans donor.

The MC rotates counter clock-wise about to the 10:00-11:00 position to unlock in and remove it. Also pinch this white clip to unlock it from the pedal.

Any advice, then, about taking it apart? I'll be working on that this week...
A couple of things. Disconnecting the arm that goes from the clutch master cylinder to the brake lever was a challenge. There are two white clips you have to push in to release the arm & they are hard to get to. I bent up part of the dashboard panel to make more room to get to the white clips & see what I was doing. Once that is released just rotate the base of the master cylinder to get it out of the firewall.

To remove the clutch pedal (for painting) I used a screwdriver to lift the spring (the end with the hook on it) over the lip and then removed the bolt. It just about fell apart at that point. After painting I used a heavy tie wrap to compress the spring and it slid right together .... easy.

I removed the two switches by turning and then pulling them out. Take a picture to get them back in the original position. I left in the plastic inserts that the switches were in and masked over them during painting. Too easy to break the inserts by removing them. (You could probably just mask the switches and not even fuss with removing them) Good luck.

Success! The note on those 2 white tabs was critical. So far taking apart that clutch pedal and removing the steering wheel have been the most challenging parts of the tear down.

This Chevy connector isn't disconnecting!
It secures the brake fluid supply to the clutch master.
2 green tabs, that don't seem to release when pushed in. Any suggestions or secrets?

Pushing the body on before squeezing the release might help
Good idea, but yeah, I tried that.

Cut the edges with snips and buy a new connector?
Well, I have a race this weekend, and if the part was available quickly, I could do that, but I am trying to save this connector, and avoid the wait for new parts.

Maybe Ian can help me in the shop, once I cool down. Way to hot in the garage today.

Maybe you don’t need the connector? Push the hose over the nipple and then zip tie it.

It took me and my 2 university kids 5 minutes, but I got the thing disconnected! One of us pushing on each green tab, and the third person pulled the connector out. I also had them help me with the white tabs that hold onto the pedal. Glad I have them here for the summer!
