You are not alone. My friend also doesn't care about spelling when he texts me. There is a whole world of short hand with texting, sometimes it is hard to tell what is a misspelled and what is texting jargon. I don't correct him, but sometimes I really don't understand what he is trying to tell me.

It can be annoying for some to read it as much as it is for those to be corrected publicly. I certainly won't throw any stones. However, if because of bad grammar, spelling, or punctuation causes issues with misinformation or dangerous potential outcomes, by all means it should be corrected......And it doesn't hurt if it's simply light-hearted entertainment among friends.
