I was hoping I can get opinion on my situation. I know I posted earlier about this car but need some more advice before I pull the trigger

Right now I found this donor car.

In this video he starts the car at the end

guy will take $500 for the car. Won’t cost me anything to tow because I have AAA towing for 200 mile.
- 5 speed
- 81 k miles on motor
- 09 which has a little more power than older one
- car starts.

what do you guys think? Good deal ?

Is a Biohazard something I should be worried about ??? Online it says most likely there was blood

thanks so much for your help

$500 is a pretty good deal.
Is it a 5spd? I see in the posting it says automatic?
Biohazard, hmm. Up side, it might not be blood. Downside, could be fecal matter. Lol
I wouldn't worry about it if you're not going to re-use the seats. Wear gloves, maybe a mask if needed working inside the car and your good.
If you saw my donor and the damage it had, there should've been biohazard material in it!

Thanks for the advice! That’s my biggest concern right now is it worth pulling the trigger that car. Because I won’t be Able to buy the kit maybe for 6 months to year. I was just looking around and found this. And I thought it was a good deal and that’s why I am considering buying donor early

10 months - is how much time I had to strip donor, prepare parts, clean them (major time consumer), powdercoat them at home, do wiring harness, do some engine work.
Once all of this done - goblin assembly takes sub-month.
Overall, good deal with this donor.

I work in a hospital lab. Biohazard is easy to deal with. Clean up any solids with gloves, etc (propper personal protective equipment)... SOAK everything that is contaminated with a good germacidal solution (non-bleach) and let it sit for recommended contact time. 10% bleach solution would be best but white seats might not be the look you are going for! Your done! Don't be afraid... It's not much different than the COVID we are dealing with now...
The biohazard might scare some away and you can get it cheaper!

You could hay wire some cheap headlights & turn signals, drive it for a while, and get to know it.
Get it fully debugged before stripping it down.
You can start on the wiring before buying the kit, all the videos are free to watch.
There are no extra instructions in the kit.

I bought the 'wiring kit' from DF and it helped tremendously in doing the wiring harness; having wire extensions of colors that matched what was in the car. The videos walked me through all of it; my first experience with car wiring. You can definitely spend a lot of time on the tear-down and wiring harness build, so if you're sure you're going to buy the kit in a year, I don't see a downside in getting the donor early.

I wouldn't worry about blood too much. If it's not blood, then, well..........

Mainly I just wanted to comment on the price of seats. If you go with Corbeau's, they're over a grand ... but there's cheaper (much cheaper) options. Braum go for a little less than that and occasionally can be found on sale, and then there's also the uber-cheap eBay/Amazon route which I personally went, as well as a few other people on here. THESE are the ones I got, and there's a bunch of variants of that same seat in different colors, under different names. They're very comfortable and even if they don't last long-term, they're so much cheaper than name-brand seats, I probably won't care.

The advantage to going with the Corbeau's from DF is, the kit includes the seat mounts. If you go the uber-cheap route, you have to craft your own mounting solution.

You don't need any of the kit to work on the wiring. I had stage 1 of the kit only, while working on my harness over the winter.

You can do 95% of wiring without kit. Do not fully wrap it and leave extra length for radiator, lights, center console ground (if you prefer). That's what I did.

You can do the wiring without the chassis.
You also have a base model donor, which makes the wiring SO much easier/quicker. Far less to remove than SS models.
I had the chassis and didn't refer to it when doing the harness. For me, It was much easier to do like in the videos, on a sheet of plywood.
Theres a posting in the Forum that shows the harness with all of the wiring drops and they're lengths.
