Donor steering column

Haven't looked at the build videos yet but am stripping the donor. What is used on the donor column vs what is supplied in the kit? Also had to cut my steering column as it wouldn't collapse. Plan to order a new one from rock auto but not sure which one. Can someone give me a part number?
