Exhaust Cutouts

I’m just about done with my intake design, so moving to exhaust.

Its kind of a Kindig trademark these days, and I got interested in it after seeing how many they install.

I want to run one, as I’m after a very factory built, functional design. This would allow me to run as quiet of an exhaust as possible for normal or neighborhood driving, but one button would open the exhaust completely up.

Has anyone thought of this, or know who makes a good system?

Tuning considerations?

You wouldn't want the exhaust cut out anywhere near the stock O2 sensor. If it gets a hint of air, it will change the air fuel mixture.

It depends on the pulsing of the airflow, exhaust pipe size, how they are joined together, turbulence, etc.
If it was mine, I would put the cutout where you want it, then monitor my wideband to see if it starts jumping around, or stays steady.
If it starts jumping around, add more length after the cut out. I would guess 18" of pipe after the O2 sensor, but it is just a guess.
This theory only works if the cut out is sealed, as well as all the exhaust gaskets, pipes, etc.

There's not really a whole lot of room for exhaust much less addition options. I'm sure it can be done, but it may take some creative piping.

Looking at my exhaust, and using some 3inch tube from past projects, it looks like it could be made to work on the DF exhaust....and now I think I have another thing to add to my Goblin. :D
