Hello, I am Tom Wallace. I live in Trenton, FL and have been building Factory Five Kits for 10 years. I just bought a 2007 Cobalt SS SC for a donor and will be ordering a kit after the new year. I am looking forward to reading all the build threads and information.

Speaking of swinging it, if you can do all 3 stages at once I recommend it. Then you can keep working instead of waiting on shipments, get everything coated or painted at once and see it all laid out. Oh, and save on shipping.
Downside is it’s a chunk of moolah and takes up space.
Good luck! Label all your wiring super well and enjoy the build. It’s over before you know it.

Thanks to all. I picked up my Cobalt yesterday and will be starting a build thread soon. I talked to Adam Doyle (Sp?) on the phone yesterday and it is too late for me to order before price change. They are closed till 1/2/2023. I had a great conversation and had a few of questions I had answered.

With some of the recent talk of "quality" issues, it will be interesting to see how the Goblin compares to a FF kit.
I think it’ll be a similar deal as our kits to the FF. I’ve watched a couple builds of the 818 and there was a decent amount of tweaking that had to happen. The FF/Snap-On sponsored builds went together extremely smoothly, but of course they aren’t going to show you the ‘dirty’ parts of the build. The DF videos also appeared to go super smooth, I personally didn’t have any show stopping issues. Just minor things that the forum answered.

I've wanted to build a FF Cobra for a while now. The Goblin would have to go to make room (physically and financially).

Nah, I'll keep the Goblin even though the FF Cobra is sweeeet.

ONLY issue I had was that I had to enlarge the clearance hole where the steering shaft went through the bulkhead.

I don’t remember having an issue with anything else.

Most of the issues with the FFR kits have been the QC on the fiberglass bodies has gone down the last few years. As with any kit there is always tweaking to be done. If it was easy anyone could do it, LOL.
