Heat exchanger fan

So I got the duct kit for my heat exchanger and in the photo directions it didn't show a fan at all... I just got done running the plumbing from the exchanger to the rear and the duct kit over the coil. Am I screwed? Do I need to Uninstall All this and add the fan?

I am not sure how many others have installed the fan with the plenum. I was one of the first from what Lonny told me. It is not mandatory. But I think a good idea.

Yah I am still trying to figure out how to research on these forums so I do apologize for asking as I have since found some great info. Just a learning curve!

Lots of Cobalts are on the streets without a working water pump in their intercooler. This (or a missing fan) can lead to higher intake air temperatures (IAT), as the intercooler isn't working properly, and when this happens, the PCM will take away ignition timing to prevent engine knock.
So you loose some power.
This will occur after you have done a few pulls, as the water in the intercooler takes a while to heat up.
I say try it, and see if it bothers you. If you are planning on racing it, you probably want the fan, if you are just horsing around on the street, you probably get enough cooling between street lights.
If you add an IAT Canbus gauge, you can watch your intake temps.

Thanks Lonny! I don't feel it is necessary for both and hey worst case scenario... I add the fan. BTW this kit is a freaking BLAST to build. Thank you.
