Helmet with Windshield

Curious if a helmet is advised with the windshield. I got the extended windshield version, for reference. Does it knock enough wind off to just wear sunglasses?

The wind screen kicks the air up pretty sharply so you don’t really need anything else. I still wear sunglasses during the day or clear safety glasses at night but that’s more for the rocks and bugs than anything.

I had pretty bad wind buffeting with the extended windscreen using a helmet. The upper 15%of the helmet caught the air and it would impact vision above 90mph as it jostled my head around. I ended up cutting down the windscreen to take 100% of the wind on and it's been night and day better.

Most of my driving I'm wearing a helmet bc sh*t happens. If I'm just around town <60mph, I could wear glasses no problem so with your extended windscreen and glasses you'll be fine.

Depends on seat height, but with my current seat height, I'm considering cutting the extended windshield down. When my seat was 2 inches higher, I looked just over the top of the windshield and was fine without a helmet.

Until you take a June bug to the cheek at 55 mph……. No fun. Just saying.

We were coming home from an evening drive down by the lake and I had a frog graze the side of my helmet. This was before I installed my wind screen. I was very glad I had my helmet on......
