Things are getting a little "Shifty" around here!!!
I am installing the first production D.F. Goblin Billet shifter in my Goblin. This shifter was designed by Lonnie specifically for the Goblin. Lonnie has been testing them in Adam's Goblin and the new Brandon Brown Goblin.....stay tuned for more pictures and reviews.
Happy to be the test dummy!
Thank to Lonnie and everyone at D. F. Goblin.

Oh those buttons on the tunnel cover? Ejector seats!!!.......Nah, just kidding I have heated seats those are for them....Its a pretty full tunnel with the intercooler lines, wiring harness, and the wiring bundle for the seats.

Hey, on the original shifter there is some side to side slop, like the entire base plate/mount/tunnel cap is moving. Since this is a new tunnel cap piece that the DF shifter is mounted on, do you notice any side to side play?

Rauq
I haven't noticed any slop. Rather than the base rocking instead of the shifter like on the original Cobalt shifter setup, I feel like the DF upgraded shifter is just going into gear.

Good to hear. So the 3 piece tunnel cap that the DF shifter is attached to sounds like it's more solidly mounted onto the tunnel than the original shifter setup.

It's actually attached in the same way, it just has way less resistance to left/right movement. There's a centering spring on the new left/right linkage arm that seems very appropriately sized to do nothing more than center the main shifter arm left/right, offering no more resistance than is required. That's compared to the Cobalt shifter on top of the tunnel, where it seemed like everything about the shifter resisted movement in any direction

Do itttt, it's not only an incredibly solid shifter, it's also a great value. The old shifter was the single biggest thing that required prefacing when I let my buddies drive my car. Now, normal disclaimers aside, I don't feel the need to hedge away any part of the experience beforehand.

Just because it was sloppy or because it didnt have a reverse gear lockout?.. haha.

I didn't really realize it until now, but yah this billet shifter (non-df) takes quite a bit of muscle to move side to side. No wonder my right arm felt worn out.

Ross
Does your billet shifter have a spring tension adjustment screw? The RSX shifter I have can adjust the tension springs, but the screws are on the bottom of the base, so I have to unmount it to adjust it.

Would I be able to find out if it does without unmounting it?

Ross
Maybe... If can you find the documentation or specifications for your shifter. Mine didn't come with specs, but I did find the screws on the bottom.
I drilled 2 holes thru the baseplate, where the spring adjusters are on my RSX shifter.
