Removable Steering Wheel

I see a few have put in a Removable Steering Wheel. Which one is being used & how do you like it? Thanks !

How much height did it add to the stock steering wheel. I mean how much closer to the driver over stock?

It's about an inch, maybe an inch and a half, closer to the driver. That was my primary concern and why I went with a "flat" wheel rather than an deep dish type. It's comfortable for me, but then I am 5' 10" and about 190lbs, so YMMV.

I know NRG offers a more slim wheel hub you could use.

You can cut the aluminum steering column tube down to compensate for the quick release

The combinations of the hub and steering wheel will determine how close it is to the driver. The DF steering wheel is a dish-type while the one we use is a flat steering wheel. Going to the flat allowed us to use a removeable hub without pushing the steering wheel into our chest.

This is the steering wheel we used. It's primarily designed for UTVs but can be used on this car.

I love my detachable wheel. Like others have said, it takes away a little bit of space, but you can get that back with the wheel you choose.

mine is all NRG stuff.

I used the NRG short hub adapter, the SFI approved NRG quick release hub, and a steering wheel from Renown USA.
