Retrieve mileage after build?

I may be blind and missing something, but how do I get my mileage to display on the gauge? I do not have the button panel nor anything hooked up for those right now (only bare wires). My gauge cluster keeps cycling through low coolant and brake fluid and stuff like that. I tried to ground the info button wire but I think it needs resistors to work properly, so that did not work.

I may need the odometer mileage for my DMV visit tomorrow... I have a picture of the odometer from before I disassembled it, so I hope that will work.

Thoughts?

Would that be the return and/or info button in this post?

Yeah I'm assuming that would be the case, I was hoping there would be a way to get around that temporarily (and quickly) without the resistor pack.

Yeah, unfortunately its gotten hard to find resistors locally, although I'm sure that there are still places in some cities. 15 years ago we had 3 different places in town that carried them. Now there are none.

My Radio Shack down the street still carries resistors. Another place to try is a local music shop. They will either have them for fixing old amps or know “the guy” that fixes them locally that could probably hook you up.

If you can find pin 22 of the X1/J1 BCM connector and have enough wire hanging out (GY/BK) to touch a ground to, I think it will show the mileage.

It's the door ajar circuit for the driver's door. Usually on vehicles, when you open the driver's door, the odometer lights up.

The key should be in the off position.
