V1 Alternator pulley/belt question

jirwin
Too late for me to call today, but there is a local scrapyard a 1/2 mi from me that supposedly has an LHU alt for $40. If they also have the bracket for it, I could see if it fits. Of course, we'd have to get a different pigtail for the plug probably, but that's nbd.

Seems like you and me have something in common. Once **** gets in your head uou have to figure out a solution. Even if you dont need it now. Its a research that can help someone in the future.

I went to the local shop and it was closed.

That would be awesome, so the difference in LHU is the bracket that has the same bolt pattern?

Yeah, this is a problem i wanted solved too. Two tensioners and they both rattle. Annoying. I'm not 100% sure though tbh. They have very similar (if not the same) blocks, so it's at least in the realm of posiblility. The LSJ had a similar bracket thing for its alternator/tensioner. This might be the same kinda thing

Ok I solved the rib conversion for now. Still would like to see if an alternator with a OAD pulley can be installed in the future. I have posted on my bluid what I used to convert to 6 rib.
