V1 Foam looking heat shield on engine

Do we need to leave this stuff on engine or can we take it off sense engine will be out in open and not under hood

The foam is not there for insulation it's there to muffle the ticking noise from the injectors. Because of the direct injection these motors put off a pretty loud ticking sound

That was exactly my understanding of it too. Even with the foam in place, you can still hear the ticking with the engine running.

It worked my wife felt sorry for me having a old ugly engine so she want’s me to have a new ugly engine also. :D
I got my lovely, beautiful, kind, understanding, sweet, love able wife’s permission :eek:;):D LOL

That is the same engine I ordered from ATK. If shipping is included in the $1900 that is a good price (I had free shipping during a sale going on early last year). I bought mine without a Goblin to put it in, that was an interesting conversation with the wife. :eek: Don't wait until she changes her mind, get it on order man!
