Here is the stock wiring diagram, and connector pinout.
Here's a picture of the whole wire harness. The blue marked end is coming from the fuel pump. There is purple, Grey, orange loose wires unsure where they connect to. DF modified your 05 wiring harness to have the 06 fuel pump connector... Did you cut that off while attempting to use your 05 fuel pump, and now don't know how to restore the harness to the way DF had it?

Here is your fuel pump sender electrical diagram.
It shows the Pink/Orange wire from PCM connector C!, pin 29. (Low Reference)
and it shows the Grey wire from PCM C1 pin 47, that would connect to the Purple wire on an 06 fuel pump. (Fuel level Sensor Signal)

Here is the fuel pump electrical diagram for your 05 cobalt.
It shows the Grey wire for Fuel Pump Supply Voltage, and the Black ground for the pump.
What about the connector? This is a statement.the 4 way oem connector the loose wires go to.
Judging from your last picture, the connector is in your hand, with the wires hanging out of it.is oem connector on the main harness or the fuse box harness?
To some extent you may have been on the right track. Maybe someone installed (or at least tried to) a 05 pump in a 06 car?Ah, I think you are right, I am mixing up two different goblins. Although, there is more to the story. Why does Jermiahjhnsn have a loose fuel pump connector?
