V1 Main Harness Question

I'm working on getting my main harness completed this weekend. There are some things in my wiring harness (2007 SS/SC) that are quite different from the videos. One is this connector. Somehow, this one didn't get labeled during teardown. I'm guessing that it's the headliner connector, but again it looks very different from the one shown in the video. You can see in the picture that the large purple wire has overheated and melted the connector. This does not allow me to separate the connector. Any ideas what this connector is? If it is the headliner harness connector, I believe I just need to remove all of the wires completely.

Its been too long since I did my harness so I don't recognize it but someone probably has the answer. If not, leave as is until you complete everything else. That will at least narrow down the options. I had a few I wasn't sure about but during the last steps, it became much clearer where things went and what could be eliminated. (at least I hope it was clearer - haven't installed the engine and tried to start yet)

A melted purple wire sounds like a fog light since it was pretty common for the “wad” of wire GM used as a resistor to get hot and burn up.

My donor was also a 2007 SS/SC and I had that same connector. It definitely came from the headliner (I labeled mine) and I believe the purple wire is for the rear defroster.

Sluggo is spot on. Headliner plug. My plug was actually melted itself so I cut the wires just like you did.

Need help IDing 2 more connectors from the main harness of a 2007 SS/SC, please. IDK what happened to the tape labels. It has been a while since removal, so they may have fallen off.

It always helps us if you can find some labels near the unidentified connector. That way we know roughly what area it is in.

Ha!! I was just typing that I was wondering if one was a speaker connector and the other was for the subwoofer. I wonder what happened to the other other speaker connector. LOL!
