Shift Cables

Hi All,

Are there different shift Cables depending on if you use the stock shifter vs the new DF shifter? Mine seem extremely too long.

Actually, they look a little short to me. Mine run along the right side of the subframe and come back to the trans.

Pretty much what ever it takes to get a smooth arc and not touch something it shouldn't. The nice thing about using sheathed cables is it doesn't matter if they are too long (except for friction in the housing) just that they are long enough. The motion at the shifter causes the same distance traveled at the transmission, no matter how long they are.

From your photo, the cables need to be routed under the rear steering link bar and as far from the exhaust as possible too. You should also put some thermal shielding on the cables to prevent them melting where they will be close to the exhaust.

Here is a look at a NA engine setup.

Just tie wrapped to the subframe . . . but it's working just fine.
