V1 Stand alone ECU

So I have tried and researched as much as possible but seems like threads talk about stand alone ECU but just die out.

Was wondering if anyone has successfully completed a standalone system. I was looking into Haltech snice the have lots of additional sensors that can be added, but dont like the idea that you cant use HP Tuners with it.

I would like to have the ability to add sensors if needed and have everything together. Like tpms, wide band, boost etc.
Also wiring would be something I'm wondering about. I read somewhere that @Desert Sasqwatch had mentioned that RPM has a harness for the cobalt. What ECU is it for?

What are you trying to run that the stock ECM can’t handle? I don’t think that any aftermarket ECM is going to work with HPT except for their own Core ECM, which has limited applications at this point.

if running the LNF, not all of the aftermarket ECM will work with direct injection.

In prior conversations with Martin at RPM Motorsports he indicated they have a stand alone ECM that is used for sandrails that would work well with the Goblin. Removes all of the extraneous bells and whistles (including VATS) and the need for the BCM. A modified or custom wiring harness would be required as do the the lights, horn, instruments, etc. would b- and it does use HPT from what i remember. Call them and ask if interested.

Have a 2006 LSJ thinking for future add on. I want to run a digital dash and would like to incorporate extra sensors like TPMS, boost gauge etc. Really don't want to have a ton of gauge. I ran a Banks idash on my zl1 and it displayed a ton of parameters.

It wouldn’t surprise me if RPM isn’t talking about using a stock, reprogrammed ECM on the LNF. I’m pretty sure they are the ones that claimed on the HPT forum to have figured out how to eliminate the bcm and VAT from the e69 ECM.

If it's a truly standalone ECM, we don't support it and they aren't using us to flash it. If they're using us to flash it, it's a stock ECM that they've modified. We only support OEM ECMs. With some very special exceptions (our own standalone)

Im assuming we is HP TUNERS? Which would make sense

Guess I will have to look at another option to keep using the factory ecu and try and add a digital screen that I can display the parameters.

David, a few people have gone to using a tablet and a bluetooth OBD2 scanner. I'm in the middle of it right now. May not give you everything you're looking for, but it's a lot more than the OEM gauge cluster.

Yes thats the route im going to take. Went down a rabbit hole and there is a way to add more sensors to a tablet. Its just above my pay grade. There is a module that you can wire up to ECU and add more sensors. Doing more homework on the subject. I know there are alot of coding and electrical engineers in this group. Hopefully I can pick their brain.
