The Cobalt carcass

M
I'm curious and I know everyone who has made the built had to deal with this problem.
You have the kit, you have the donor.
As time progresses you have a DF Goblin nearing completion...and a pile of Cobalt parts that are now useless to you.
What did you do with that pile of leftovers?

I stripped the donor in a storage unit and built the Goblin in my garage. As parts came off, I listed them for sale and executed the transactions at the storage unit.

This provided more space obviously, but I underestimated the value of separating the don't-need pile from the build parts pile.

When I was done selling, I put all the leftovers into the shell and hauled it to the scrapper.

I posted up on craigslist "SCRAP for pick up" and description. I now have a dedicated scrap guy that I contact when I have stuff I need picked up.

Obviously I sold what I could.

I had a pretty solid body with good glass all around. Just some front fender damage. I donated it to our local volunteer fire department to use for training. They did some burn training then used the jaws of life on the rest.

Misc metal parts went into a shredder steel pile at my old job. I sold the cats to a crackhead that rolled up on a scooter for $50. He was mobile with his own sawzall. :D Other crap made its way into a dumpster. About the only thing I kept were the suspension springs, a bin of nuts and bolts, and a tote with most of the wire and connectors that I stripped from the harness.

I cut out the VINs, kept the title and posted it up on the Facebook Market as a free metal shell. I had lots of people contacting me for the scrap metal of it.

I put our donor in the back yard and been selling parts from it. After a while I’ll load it on the trailer and off to the scrap yard
