Owner texted me that it isn't driveable and on this ad states it will not start (? battery dead).
Any thoughts on what I should look at? Any thoughts on a range of $$ I should offer? Looking at the auctions and the companies that will bid for you, it looks like it would cost upwards of $1000+ just for the fees/shipping and then there is the winning bid thus even a cheap winning bid would put me over $1000.
I was a diver @ the Wichita IAAI live auction (the temp agency I was working from needed a body for a day an I volunteered) and got to drive the "runs and drives" vehicles across the block and listen to the auction and the sold prices. IAAI seem to me to sell these vehicles at a higher price that I expected. I.e. a 2007(?) VW Jetta turbo NA engine that was hit HARD in the front, still went for ~ $2500 (!). I drove a late model Porsche 911 turbo across the block and it went for ~ $25,000(!!) and it had been hit in the rear and had all kinds of warning lights on the dash (including something like take to dealer NOW!
) So I don't think the IAAI auctions would be cheaper than the Copart ones.
I'm not looking for an SS but would entertain upgrading to a turbo from ZZP Performance in the future. ;D
