Subframe carriage bolts question

The carriage bolts that attach the front of the subframe to the chassis don't fit into my subframe because they're obviously square. I've tried to search how people are making this work, but no luck.

How is it done? Do the bolts just bite into the circular subframe hole? Thanks for the help.

I thought the same thing of trying to put a square peg in a round hole. I was fully expecting issues of tightening them up, but no issues whatsoever.

The square part if the bolt won't go in the subframe hole, but it will still work. No worries.

Not a great picture. But you get the idea..... (I think a regular bolt head with a washer would tear into the radiator hose due to the additional height). Kind of why I positioned the clamps the way they are.

Awesome, thanks for sharing. That picture really clears it up too, because I was mostly worried about the bolt rubbing the coolant line too.
