I didn't buy my QD from DF, but the nut was slightly larger than the opening in mine also. The interference was very minimal. I made sure the wires were out of the way then installed the black flange and torqued it down, then installed the QD and slowly tightened the retaining bolts in a similar fashion to torquing lug nuts until the gap was gone. Didn't take much force and was still able to remove the QD from the flange. Interference was maybe 1 mm or less at the corners of the nut.

I made a 'tutorial' of sorts when I did mine. I had to open my hole up a little to allow the coupler to go over the nut.

DF Quick Release Steering Wheel How To

Since there isn't a clear direction on what to do for the DF Quick Release (QR) kit, I thought I'd post what I did as I just installed it. I didn't use the 'horn' button as I couldn't get it to stay in even after cutting the wire clip. I would also play with the unit a bit to see how it all...
