Coolant Hose vs Nipple

Curious why DF chose to use coolant hose going through the tubing vs just welding on a nipple. Would their be any issues with welding nipples and going that route?

This was common practice in formula cars in the 60s-70's
The downside is rusting out the tube long term....I l like using the rubber hose through the lower tube. Clean simple and replaceable

I will be using the AN braided hose myself. The ID is slightly smaller, but I doubt it will drastically affect the cooling capabilities. Plus, its OD is slightly smaller than the ID of the frame rail so you don't have to fight the braided line to go through the frame rail.

Good points, I think I will get some braided line instead since the couplers look nice. Does anyone have any suggestions on what size I should use?

I believe you’re right, but I got them off Amazon and the vendor I bought from sold it in increments smaller than 8’ or 10’+ so I bought the 10’ sections. I thought they’d send me 2 10’ sections but they sent me 20’ of hose so I’ll have to cut it to size.

Thanks

This may work too if you wanted to convert your radiator to an fittings. I don't get the point of running an fittings and adapting to hose. I want to use all an fittings and will probably end up just welding on the an threads since its only about $10 per weld bung.
